I make ceramics and quilts from home in south-east London and my studio near the Thames in Woolwich. My pots are made in small batches of mostly wheel-thrown stoneware, with some hand built work, fired in an electric kiln. They are intended to be beautiful but useful; with shapes, glazes and patterns that are quietly absorbing and a pleasure to have around.
To make my quilts I try to reuse old textiles as much as possible, transforming worn out clothes and fragments of household fabric back into pieces that can be both unique art objects or warm and beautiful bed covers. Sometimes textiles have strong associations with particular memories or emotions and quilts can be a satisfying way to embody and preserve these. They're also a wonderful way to work with colour and pattern.
